"Thinking about the future” is the event made and created by the Intercultural News journal prepared to the students of Ciep 117.  Its main objective is to help the students by offering more information about careers. Professionals from different areas are invited to give a lecture about his/her profession and talk about the opportunities in their areas, job market, salary average and other options.

This event is really important and valued by the students because in the high school, the most commons questions are: “what is my vocation?” “What career best fits me?” “Am I going to get a job opportunity?” So, all the structure is to help the students on this difficult moment of life. The students loved the event and said that are they really anxious for the “Thinking about the future” of the next year.

The speeches happened in all day.

We had speeches about:

1- Physics

Matheus Martins talked about the possibilities for who wants follow this profession. The students learned that there the medical Physics, and it’s very complex. It’s not such a cheap career, mainly for the doctorate and master’s degree. The speaker believes that your success depends of you, your effort. We were discussing that you can make everything if you want, it depends only on you.

The students were surprised because thestereotype for those who study Physics is that it is a job for people that only study, that don't have a social life and that are ‘crazy’ or like Einstein.

While on the radio, the news can only be listened, so, an auditory media. On TV we have anaudiovisual media that we can listen and see and that has a more complex structure and edition than the others, because they have to worry about the image, news and audio. In addition to journalism, we learned about the journalism university courses, duration and forms to do it.
